8 Non-Clothing Wardrobe Essentials I Use Every Day · Effortless Gent

When it comes to daily essentials, most people think of clothing items like shirts, pants, and shoes.

But there are a few non-clothing items in my wardrobe that I use practically every single day. These tools and accessories make my life easier and help keep my wardrobe in top shape.

Here’s a breakdown of my top eight non-clothing essentials.

First up, a steamer. I steam everything, and iron nothing!

If you haven’t tried a steamer yet, I highly recommend it. It’s a game-changer for keeping clothes wrinkle-free without the hassle of ironing.

I’ve tested a few handheld steamers, and this one is my favorite by far.

Next on the list is this lint remover and sweater shaver combo. It’s an all-in-one tool that I can’t live without.

I’ve used disposable lint rollers, as well as sweater stones that remove pilling, but this combo tool is a compact, efficient solution. It keeps my clothes looking fresh without the need for separate gadgets.

A shoehorn is another daily essential. I have several and even use them as props in my videos.

Shoehorns make putting on shoes much easier and help preserve the shape of the heel, preventing eventual wear and tear.

Shoe bags are another item I use all the time.

I have tons of these, and many brands include them when you purchase shoes.

They’re perfect for storing shoes in your closet, keeping dust off, and protecting leather shoes when traveling. Simply slip your shoes into them, then pack into your suitcase, and you won’t have to worry about scratches.

Cedar shoe trees are a must for anyone who cares about their leather shoes.

You really only need one set, and they work wonders by maintaining the shape of your shoes and absorbing moisture.

This helps extend the life of your leather shoes, keeping them in top condition.

Drawer dividers have been a game-changer for keeping my drawers organized. They’re especially useful when you have different types of items in one drawer.

Without these dividers, everything would get mixed up, and the mess would drive me crazy. They help maintain order and make finding what I need a breeze. Totally worth it!

Slim velvet hangers are another favorite. I prefer them over standard plastic or wooden hangers because they take up less room and grip clothing better. This means your clothes won’t slip off, which can happen with plastic and wooden hangers.

I prefer to use these only for woven shirts, and pants. For any knits (like polo shirts) or garments that have some stretch, I still use wider hangers (or fold in drawers) to prevent the hanger dimple that forms at the shoulder (I’m sure you’ve seen this before!)

For suits and winter coats, anything substantial that needs more support, I use wider wooden hangers that conform to the shape of the jacket. But for everything else, these are great!

8. A collapsible, lightweight Drying Rack

Finally, a drying rack is something I use regularly.

Anytime I need to hang dry clothing, this rack comes in handy.

I like it because it doesn’t take up much space, and when I’m done, I can fold it up and store it under the bed. It also doubles as a clothing rack in a pinch when I need to hang extra items.

Do you use any of these (Non-Clothing) Wardrobe Essentials?

These eight non-clothing items have become indispensable in my daily routine. They help keep my wardrobe organized, my clothes in great condition, and make everyday tasks a little easier.

Hopefully this list helps you find some new tools to incorporate into your own wardrobe!
