Apple rumored to release new M4 Mac models and updated iPad mini on November 1

Apple is wildly rumored to be readying new M4 Mac models and an updated iPad mini for launch in the coming weeks, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reporting on Sunday that Apple will likely release the new models for sale on November 1, suggesting a product event in late October.

“Now that the iPhone 16 is shipping, Apple is turning its attention to other hardware products, including a new low-end iPhone, updated iPads and M4 Macs,” says Gurman in his weekly Power On newsletter.

First, I expect Apple to announce the following products around the end of October. The company is currently aiming to then release at least some of them on Friday, Nov. 1: Low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip (code-named J604), high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M4 chips (J614 and J616), revamped Mac mini in M4 and M4 Pro chip configurations (J773), refreshed iMac with an M4 chip (J623), and a refreshed iPad mini (J410).”

“I expect Apple to kick off 2025 with several other new devices in the first half of the year,” he adds, hinting at new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models with M4, a new iPhone SE, refreshed 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models (J607 and J637), new Magic Keyboards for the updated iPad Air line (R307 and R308) and lastly, an upgraded AirTag.

“New versions of the Mac Studio and Mac Pro with M4 chips are also in development, but they may take longer to arrive. I expect the Mac Studio launch to be closer to the middle of the year, with the Mac Pro going on sale sometime in the second half of 2025. And, of course, we should expect the iPhone 17 line and new Apple Watches in late 2025, along with M5 Macs,” says Gurman.

Based on the launch date of November 1 and Apple’s typical event to release time frame, we can speculate that the iPhone maker’s October special event could take place as soon as Monday, October 21, though Gurman did not speculate on the date which the new devices will be unveiled.
