The Samsung Galaxy S24 is an excellent smartphone, even if it’s not a massive upgrade over its predecessor. And while we’re slowly approaching the next Galaxy device generation, there’s no denying that the S24 is still one of the best compact flagships you can buy today.
Smartphones are more fragile than ever, and the Galaxy S24 is no exception. It has a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front and back and an aluminum frame. While the glass prevents small scratches and falls from cracking, it can still shatter and get scuffed. To prevent accidental damage, we recommend choosing a high-quality case that provides 360-degree protection and some additional features.

Best overall
Spigen Tough Armor for Galaxy S24
Another in a long line of high-end cases from Spigen, the Tough Armor lives up to its name with shock-absorbing impact foam that keeps your Galaxy S24 safe from all but the most critical damage. Precision engineering and manufacturing mean it fits perfectly, while a kickstand allows for hands-free viewing in landscape orientation and TPU bumpers on the top and bottom help you maintain a solid grip.

Premium pick
Mous Limitless 5.0 for Galaxy S24
I spent most of 2023 wearing the Limitless on my personal Galaxy S23 and the first case my Galaxy S24 will wear upon arrival. MagSafe is cool, but the visible rings can be a bit annoying, so Mous completely covers it with a half-dozen material types for a trusty and quite tasteful Galaxy S24 case.

Promoted pick
i-Blason Armorbox for Galaxy S24
The regular S24 might not be getting the Cosmo this year, but at least it’s getting MagSafe in the Armorbox! The MagSafe ring takes up the same area the kickstand did on previous models, so i-Blason added a lens cover to fulfill that role. There’s also a screen protector built into the front frame of this case, so you’re completely covered against drops.

Best value
Poetic Neon for Galaxy S24
Most heavy-duty cases try to put on a rugged, almost militant look, but the Poetic Neon counteracts this with bright, two-tone colorways and a relatively slim profile. This inner TPU layer gives us two anti-slip pads to help it stay put on tables, and while it lacks a dust plug for the USB-C port, it also means nothing can interfere with your cables.
-
Spidercase Heavy Duty for Galaxy S24
The nondescript Spidercase Heavy Duty boasts a 12-foot drop protection rating, despite being one of the slimmest cases we’ve seen. Not only is it compact and rugged, but it even comes with pairs of screen and camera protectors. You can also choose from 9 attractive colors in addition to white, black, or clear.
-
Spigen Liquid Air for Galaxy S24
I almost wept upon seeing the color options for this case. After years of begging, Spigen finally gave us bolder colorways and lighter variants for the popular and precociously textured Liquid Air. The triangular texture across the back is shallow enough not to interfere with PopSockets or stick-on wallets, and the slanted side grips offer the perfect purchase.
-
Ghostek Covert for Galaxy S24
The Ghostek Covert is a rugged clear case available in multiple variants, offering several bumper colors, accents, and a transparent back. Aside from aesthetics, it’s incredibly protective, thanks to the impact-resistant TPU bumper and shock-absorbing material at the corners. The case also has textured sides for enhanced grip and raised edges to protect the display and camera lenses from scratches. Additionally, it supports wireless charging.
-
Caseology Parallax for Galaxy S24
With a combination of textures and grips, the Parallax has been a faithful case series for many years, one that most of my family and I use on our phones. This year, Sage Green has finally come to the Parallax, and we have a Navy Violet with some dark periwinkle accents that should play marvelously with the Cobalt Violet S24.
-
Poetic Guardian Series For Galaxy S24
Poetic’s clear case got a MagSafe upgrade this generation, with the camera ring now hosting a basic kickstand as well as an extra-tall lip to protect the cameras. The real upgrade this year is the color combos; the green, blue, and purple all look much better than last year. It also comes with two front frames: one with a built-in screen protector and one without.
-
Bellroy Leather Case for Galaxy S24
Bellroy has long been known for its elegant, genuine leather smartphone cases, and the company’s Galaxy S24 offering has a lot to like. Available in two variants, it features a classic leather look that will develop a lovely patina as it’s used. The case also comes with microfiber lining to prevent scratches from the accessory. Additionally, it offers the perfect fit with precise cutouts and buttons.
-
Rokform Magnetic Rugged for Galaxy S24
Claiming to have two-to-three times the strength of normal MagSafe, Rokform’s rugged case ensures that your magnetic grips and chargers will never fall off by accident. In fact, you might need to be careful to ensure this Galaxy S24 case won’t rip your car mount off its anchors. But don’t worry; it won’t interfere with any signals or functions of your phone.
-
Smartish Wallet Slayer Vol. 1 for Galaxy S24
While it’s not compatible with wireless charging, especially not MagSafe, Smartish’s unique sliding wallet brings excellent protection and infinite variety to its Galaxy S24 case. There are four pre-made designs, but you can also upload your own photos and put your precocious pets or grinning grandkids on your trusty case.
-
Samsung Standing Grip Case for Galaxy S24
I’m slightly bummed we’re not getting the customizable strap cases from the last few generations of Ultras — and the dozens of straps from licensed brands that were available for it — but the flexible, sliding strap on this year’s case makes for a kickstand as well as a grip. There are three color combos, but this Dark Violet and yellow seems like the best of the bunch.
-
Thinborne Slim Case for Galaxy S24
With a 1-millimeter thickness and 20-gram weight, this Thinborne offering is one of the thinnest Galaxy S24 cases you can buy. But its slender design doesn’t mean it won’t protect your phone from mishaps. The case is made from a durable, robust aramid fiber that will keep the S24 safe from bumps, dents, drops, and scratches. Another highlight is the case’s magnetic ring, which offers MagSafe compatibility for accessories, including the best Qi2 chargers.
-
Incipio Forme Protective for Galaxy S24
This is one of the first Galaxy S24 cases I’ve tested that wasn’t MagSafe, and it looks even more striking in person than it does in the renders. Though not a crystal clear case, this case is quite darling, and while it’s not textured, it’s easy to keep a hold of. Incipio’s even imbued it with 10-foot drop protection despite its simplistic design.
Which case is the best for the Samsung Galaxy S24?
The Samsung Galaxy S24 isn’t a cheap device, but it’s the most affordable model out of the Galaxy S24 lineup. If you’re looking for the best overall case that doesn’t break the bank and provides excellent overall protection, consider the Spigen Tough Armor. It absorbs shocks, has elevated bezels, and even has a built-in kickstand for a truly hands-free experience.
However, if you have the cash for something more luxurious, glance at the Mous Limitless 5.0. It supports MagSafe-compatible accessories and wireless chargers and has many finishes, including wood, for a more premium look. It also provides excellent shockproof protection.
Last but not least, the Poetic Neon is an excellent value if you’re on a tight budget. It’s cheaper than Spigen or Mous’ cases, but it still provides great 360-degree protection thanks to its heavy-duty design and unique shade. It has anti-slip pads, a dust plug for the USB-C port, and a grippy texture on the sides to make the phone even more ergonomic.
