[unpaid/sample] Another day, another foundation. This time it’s the Max Factor Miracle Pure Skin Reset 2-In-1 Serum Foundation under the microscope and I have to say, it fares well as a day to day base that uses skin care to boost the effects.
As you can see from the label, Max Factor is using 2% Niacinamide and Bisabolol, a noted skin soother that comes from chamomile extracts. The claims are that your skin will look brighter with more even skin tone after 28 days. I can’t speak to that as I’ve tested this for its make up performance rather than skin care qualities but it feels very comfortable and light on the skin – immediately pleasant to use with easy workability and blending.
I’d describe the finish as a gentle matte – it’s not so much velvet as satin which is the best of both worlds – not to flattening and not too shiny, and I’d rate it for mid-life complexions because it hugs the skin gently without looking dry. I am not fond of a dropper applicator – they’re just annoying and never reach the very bottom of the bottle – so whether that packaging was chosen to visually drive home the skin care element or not, it’s not the best choice for the user.
I have to admit to not understanding the colour codes. I have 30-40 Fair to Light and 10-30 Fair – there are only 9 shade options and I can’t see how that’s going to cover all skin tones. However, there is a useful shade chart HERE which might help you decide which, if any, is for you.
I think it looks pretty good – it’s certainly giving plenty of tone-evening and uniformity to my skin while still keeping it looking hydrated. It’s on offer at Boots for £12.99 so if you can get a good shade match I don’t think you can go too far wrong with this foundation.
